The rectifier or controller changes the alternating voltage generated in the alternator to the DC voltage of 12V used in the vehicle electrical system
and keeps the voltage within a certain tolerance range.
This will charge the battery and ensure that, for example, incandescent lamps do not burn.

Since this component is exposed to very high temperature loads, it is not infrequent.
If the rectifier or regulator is defective, the battery is constantly empty, the ignition system no longer functions in certain ignition systems,
Incandescent lamps burn continuously or the driving light flickers.
